چکیده

Dual-functional radar-communication (DFRC) systems can simultaneously perform both radar and communication functionalities using the same hardware platform spectrum resource. In this paper, we consider multi-input multi-output (MIMO) DFRC focus on transmit beamforming designs to provide sensing multi-user communications. Unlike conventional block-level precoding techniques, propose use recently emerged symbol-level approach in systems, which provides additional degrees of freedom (DoFs) that guarantee preferable instantaneous beampatterns for achieve better performance. particular, squared error between designed desired is minimized subject quality-of-service (QoS) requirements users constant-modulus power constraint. Two efficient algorithms are developed solve non-convex problem Euclidean Riemannian spaces. The first algorithm employs penalty dual decomposition (PDD), majorization-minimization (MM), block coordinate descent (BCD) methods convert original optimization into two solvable sub-problems, iteratively solves them algorithms. second a much faster solution at price slight performance loss, transforming space, then utilizing augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) obtain an unconstrained subsequently solved via Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (RBFGS) algorithm. Extensive simulations verify distinct advantages proposed

Towards Dual-functional Radar-Communication Systems: Optimal Waveform Design

We focus on a dual-functional multi-input-multioutput (MIMO) radar-communication (RadCom) system, where a single transmitter communicates with downlink cellular users and detects radar targets simultaneously. Several design criteria are considered for minimizing the downlink multi-user interference. First, we consider both the omnidirectional and directional beampattern design problems, where t...

Waveform Design using Second Order Cone Programming in Radar Systems

Transmit waveform design is one of the most important problems in active sensing and communication systems. This problem, due to the complexity and non-convexity, has been always the main topic of many papers for the decades. However, still an optimal solution which guarantees a global minimum for this multi-variable optimization problem is not found. In this paper, we propose an attracting met...

Power Allocation Strategies for MIMO Radar Waveform Design

The role of waveform design is central to effective radar resource management for state-of-the art radar systems. The waveform shape employed by any radar system has always been a key factor in determining the performance and application. The design of radar waveform to minimize mean square error (MSE) in estimating the target impulse response is based on power allocation using waterfilling. ...

Symbol-Level Precoding Design Based on Distance Preserving Constructive Interference Regions

In this paper, we investigate the symbol-level precoding (SLP) design problem in the downlink of a multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) channel. We consider generic constellations with any arbitrary shape and size, and confine ourselves to one of the main categories of constructive interference regions (CIR), namely, distance preserving CIR (DPCIR). We provide a comprehensive study of ...

Symbol-Level Precoding Design for Max-Min SINR in Multiuser MISO Broadcast Channels

In this paper, we address the symbol level precoding (SLP) design problem under max-min SINR criterion in the downlink of multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) channels. First, we show that the distance preserving constructive interference regions (DPCIR) are always polyhedral angles (shifted pointed cones) for any given constellation point with unbounded decision region. Then we prove ...
